You will create a fun and colourful quilt in the spirit of the Symposium theme this year, using the beautiful Lumiere metallic fabric paints on black fabric.  The first half of the course will focus on painting, including techniques of fabric painting, blending colours, light and shade, design principles. These paints make it very easy to achieve excellent results even if you are a first-time painter.  The second half of the course will be designing, practising and executing free motion quilting patterns on top of your painting to bring your picture to life! Because of limited time, you need to have at least a basic knowledge of free motion quilting and I am happy to expand your knowledge and offer ideas for filler designs and demonstrate how to achieve these.
