Clare Smith is a textile artist and costume maker based in Wellington.
She has a Teaching Diploma, a Graduate Diploma in Visual arts and a Diploma in Costume Construction from Toi Whakaari (the New Zealand Drama School). She recently completed a Diploma in Maori Visual Arts (Raranga – Weaving) at Te Wananga o Aotearoa.
She has been teaching dyeing, screen-printing and fabric painting, quilting, machine quilting and bookmaking since 1996, both in New Zealand and internationally.
